Service for Children

School Kitchen
In Government schools children are given midday meals. In many schools, there is no kitchen. The food cooked in the open is not hygienic. Based on requests received from schools and after assessing the willingness of the local Parent-Teacher community to get involved in the project, TCT supports local initiatives to construct school kitchen. The local community contributes land, labour and time for supervision. TCT provides materials for construction. The teachers and parents implement the project.
School Infrastructure
On request from village high schools and after assessing the need, TCT provides furniture for classrooms and teachers.
Evening Study and Recreation Centre
Eighteen Centres provide supervised study support and recreation for Primary School children. The Centres managed by educated and  trained village women volunteers function for two hours a day, six days a week.
The activities of the Centre include games,
story telling, cultural programmes,
competitions, health and hygiene education
and supervised study. Womens groups in the
village provide the necessary support for
the programme.
TCT implemented this project for 3 years
from 2002 – 2005 to provide supervised study
support and recreation for Primary School
children under eighteen.
