Service for Persons with Disabilities

Since 1996, TCT has been networking with Government and other voluntary agencies in the district in organising programmes for disabled persons and streamlining assistance for them.

From organising awareness programmes, special Health camps, Government assistance camps for disabled persons, TCT has progressed towards setting up rehabilitation services and organising them into Self-help Groups

The Comprehensive Rehabilitation and Counselling Centre provides physiotherapy, surgery assistance and distributes assistive devices to persons with disabilities.

Self-help Groups for persons with disabilities are promoted. Leaders of these Groups are given leadership training.

Care for disabled

The disabled people are formed into Self-help Groups for discussing their problems amongst themselves and accessing help from the Government and other agencies including TCT.

Now, the federation of disabled people are being trained and activated to take a proactive role for the welfare of disabled persons. The federation members are enabled to network with their counterparts at the State level for larger issues affecting them.
