Educational Activities
Mumbai, Maharashtra
In Mumbai, TCT has supported the activities of the South Indian Welfare Society (SIWS) Schools right from its beginning and has played an active role in its management.
Large contributions from TCT helped to setup –
N.R.Swamy College of Commerce in 1980 and
Thirumalai College of Science in 1988.
A unique feature is that a child entering Kindergarten can pursue his education upto the Post Graduate level within the same Campus. At any time nearly 14,000 students study in these schools and colleges.
Walajapet, Tamilnadu
In June 1994, in response to a long felt need of the Ranipet and Walajapet community, TCT setup Vedavalli Vidyalaya, a co-educational school affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education, at Walajapet.
With the belief that a ‘child-friendly’ atmosphere is essential for learning, the school’s teaching methods and procedures blend the traditional with modern ideas that provide for the all-round development of the child, preparing him for responsible adulthood.

2003 - Started a second Vedavalli Vidyalaya with primary section at Vanapadi

2007 - Vedavalli Vidyalaya added a new Block at its Walaja premises to accommodate Kindergarten and Primary sections from LKG to II Std. This building equipped with a Maths-Science Lab, a Language Lab and Audiovisual facilities, also has a Seminar hall
More than 1600 children study in these schools.
Besides setting up the Akshaya Vidya Trust consisting of local luminaries, educationists and social workers to manage the school, TCT continues its support for the school and plays an active role in its management.
